Additive Manufacturing of Polymer-Based Composites Using Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF): a Review
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this review paper, recent developments in the Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) approach are provided for composite materials. Influencing parameters FFF process such as road width, print speed, layer thickness, feed rate and build temperature of model (both liquefier envelope temperature), fiber orientation, position, volume fraction, infill orientation have been studied. These considered strength/bonding or physicochemical characterizations FFF-fabricated parts presented detail. An overview mechanical properties printed different material systems is discussed. Three types reinforced polymers considered: filled polymers, continuous fiber-reinforced short polymers.

Le : The printer is equipped with an o -the-shelf nozzle that inputs multiple filaments (three in the picture) and outputs molten mixed plastic through a single exit hole. Such devices cannot directly be used to print gradients: the transition between mixtures takes time, and this timing v...

Recently, high-performance lightweight materials with outstanding mechanical properties have opened up their way to some sophisticated industrial applications. As one of these systems, aluminum matrix composites/nanocomposites (AMCs) offer an outstanding combination of relative density, hardness, wear resistance, and mechanical strength. Until now, several additive manufacturing methods have be...
متن کاملAdditive Manufacturing of Cfrp Composites Using Fused Deposition Modeling: Effects of Carbon Fiber Content and Length
Additive manufacturing (AM) technologies have been successfully applied in various applications. Fused deposition modeling (FDM), one of popular AM techniques, is most widely used method for manufacturing of plastic materials. Due to the poor strength properties of pure plastic materials, there is a critical need to improve mechanical properties for FDMfabricated pure plastic parts. One of the ...
متن کاملSimple and Versatile 3D Printed Microfluidics Using Fused Filament Fabrication.
The uptake of microfluidics by the wider scientific community has been limited by the fabrication barrier created by the skills and equipment required for the production of traditional microfluidic devices. Here we present simple 3D printed microfluidic devices using an inexpensive and readily accessible printer with commercially available printer materials. We demonstrate that previously repor...
